Questions? We have answers.
Starting therapy raises a lot of questions. These are the ones we hear most often.
Q: Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?
A: Yes. Research confirms that telehealth therapy produces outcomes comparable to in-person care for most mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Every clinician on our team is licensed, experienced, and trained in evidence-based approaches.
Q: What happens in my first session?
A: Your first session is a conversation, not an exam. Your therapist will take time to understand what brought you here, what you're hoping to work on, and what's felt hard or stuck. There's no pressure to share more than you're ready to. Our free 15-minute consultation lets you ask questions and meet your therapist first. No charge. No obligation.
Q: What if I don't have insurance, or you don't take mine?
A: You still have options. We offer the Calm Mind Monthly Support Plan at $27/month (a 45-minute licensed session, no insurance required), online programs starting at $50, a sliding scale for individual sessions (contact us to ask), and a superbill if you have out-of-network benefits. If you're not sure what your plan covers, we'll verify your benefits for you.
Q: What insurance plans do you accept?
A: We are currently in-network with Aetna, Medicare/Medicare Part B, Florida Blue, United HealthCare, and Tricare. If your plan isn't listed, you may still have out-of-network benefits. Call us at (608) 371-9624.
Q: Do you offer telehealth only, or can I come in person?
A: We are a telehealth-only practice. All sessions are delivered by secure video or phone from anywhere in Florida.
Q: What platform do you use for video sessions? Is it private?
A: We use a HIPAA-compliant video platform. You'll receive a private link after booking. No downloads required for most sessions.
Q: Do you work with children or teenagers?
A: We currently serve adults 18 and older. If you are looking for support for a younger family member, we're happy to help point you toward resources.
Q: How do I get started?
A: Book a free 15-minute consultation. No charge, no commitment.
